Une autre soirée difficile à l'urgence de la Cité de la Santé à Laval récemment.

Les paramédics sont arrivés avec un patient à 20 h 50, ont été triés et ont ensuite reçu l'ordre d'attendre avec leur patient sur leur civière jusqu'à ce qu'un transfert vers un lit à l'urgence puisse être organisé.

La première équipe de paramédics a été relevée par une deuxième équipe de paramédics. La deuxième équipe de paramédics a été relevée par une troisième équipe de paramédics.

Le patient a finalement été transféré vers un lit à l'urgence à 4 h 40 le lendemain matin après que les paramédics aient été mis hors service pendant 7 heures et 50 minutes.

Imaginez la situation dans cette salle d'urgence où aucun lit n'était disponible pour ce patient et qu'il est resté sur une civière d'ambulance pendant près de 8 heures.

Au moment où j'écris cette mise à jour ce soir, le taux d'occupation à l'urgence de la Cité de la Santé est de 129 % avec 63 patients sur des lits dans une urgence conçue pour une capacité maximale de 49.

La situation demeure critique malgré le fait qu'il n'y ait plus de nouvelles de la cellule dite de crise du MSSS.

Another challenging evening at the ER at Cité de la Santé in Laval recently.

Paramedics arrived with a patient at 20H50 in the evening, were triaged and then were instructed to wait with their patient on their stretcher until a transfer to a bed in the ER could be arranged.

The first team of paramedics were relieved by a second team of paramedics. The second team of paramedics were relieved by a third team of paramedics.

The patient was finally transferred to an ER bed at 04H40 the next morning after paramedics were held out of service for 7 hours 50 minutes.

Imagine the situation in that ER that not a single bed was available for that patient and they remained on an ambulance stretcher for almost 8 hours.

As I'm writing this update this evening, the occupancy rate in the ER at Cité de la Santé is at 129% with 63 patients on beds in an ER designed with a maximum capacity of 49.

The situation remains critical despite the fact there isn't any news anymore about the so-called crisis cell of the MSSS.
